Moving from an Old Apartment Building to a Very Nice Contemporary Space in Las Vegas

My wife and I rented a place that was owned by relatives. You would think that would let you have a few extra perks for your rent. Well, not exactly. The aunt and uncle who owned the place were not what you would call great landlords. They made sure to collect the rent on time, but they were slow in fixing things. I asked my wife to start looking at apartments in north west Las Vegas to rent when our lease was up for renewal. I had no idea what to tell our relatives, but we were definitely moving.

When I finally worked up the nerve to tell my uncle I was moving, he asked me what took so long. I was a bit taken aback, and he explained that he knew it was not a nice place and figured we would have moved a long time ago. Well, there you go. There is no understanding relatives. Anyway, my wife found us a really nice place when she was looking for apartments in north west Las Vegas. We got a two bedroom place at an apartment complex that has two swimming pools. We have nice big walk-in closets, and we have a washer and dryer in the apartment. That was actually an exciting thing for me as I could not stand laundromat day.

My favorite thing is the private patio that we have. My wife and I have a container garden out there that we tend, and it is a really relaxing spot to us. It is crowded with succulents and other plants that thrive in the desert sun and heat of Nevada. We have turned it into a very nice outdoor living space. The nice kitchen with stainless steel appliances is a far cry from the place where we were at that was stuck in the 1980s. Our new apartment is modern with a very contemporary design throughout.
